Congratulations and Welcome!

Denver Public Schools would like to extend a warm welcome to all new teachers and educators joining us for the 2018-19 school year!  The coming months are all a part of your transition into DPS and we want to be sure you have the information you need.

The district is committed to supporting our new teachers - whether new to the district, new to an assignment or new to teaching - so each is positioned for success in the classroom. For many, the journey begins as soon as you're hired and as early as this summer!

Curriculum/Content-Specific Professional Learning

There are many opportunities to receive content-specific support throughout the summer. Please check the Summer Professional Learning Catalog for grade level/content-specific learning opportunities. http://plc.dpsk12.org/summer-2018-professional-development/

The Curriculum & Instruction Department has a variety of professional learning sessions available to help teachers new to DPS! In these sessions, found in the 2018 Summer Professional Development Session Guide, participating teachers will be introduced to the DPS-supported curricula, provided instructional resources to support learning through the curricula, and connected to other educators across the district. New teachers should check in with their school leaders to confirm which sessions are relevant for their school and then register for those sessions using the 2018 New Educator PD Registration Form. Feel free to reach out to curriculum_instruction@dpsk12.org with any questions regarding these offerings!

For guidance on which sessions to attend, connect with your principal for his/her input.
