Professional Resources

Leading Effective Academic Practice (LEAP) is Denver Public Schools’ (DPS) teacher growth, support and performance system. LEAP strives to help teachers identify areas of strength and growth through more meaningful feedback conversations, effective coaching cycles, and professional learning sessions so that teachers can develop as professionals and continue meeting the needs of students.

Visit the LEAP website for a comprehensive summary.

Schoolnet is a leading online assessment and reporting system.  Learners can see their progress in real time and know where they need to improve.  Teachers and administrators can create online tests, analyze data, and better plan instruction. Schoolnet provides a unified solution to align student assessment, curriculum, and instruction; guide collaborative, data-informed discussion; and enable targeted instruction for every student.

See Schoolnet for more detailed information.

Content Learning Objectives (CLOs)

CLOs help provide all students the opportunity to access the rigor of the Common Core State Standards.  The language objective tells how the students will learn and/or demonstrate their mastery of the lesson by reading, speaking, writing, or listening.

Student Learning Objectives (SLOs)

The SLO Process is an improved process for DPS educators to set ambitious learning goals for students and measure their progress toward attaining them. The SLO Process affords all DPS teachers the exciting opportunity of being able to work with the SLOs and practice how best to incorporate them into their daily instruction. In addition, the SLO team will collect feedback on how the SLO Process is working throughout the district in order to best determine how SLOs may work into Student Growth in LEAP in the future. The SLO handbook provides more detailed information.

Health and Wellness

We encourage our team members to make health a habit — to have more energy to do the things you love and to be an effective member of Team DPS. All employees are invited to visit the wellness section in The Commons to get information about upcoming wellness events and to access our comprehensive library of wellness resources.
